In the world of elves and magic, the story of a somewhat “weird” girl who finally finds her place in the world after an unappreciated upbringing.
Project Type: Campaign
Topic: The challenges individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) faced in society.
Objectives: To promote empathy and understanding towards people with ASD. Show that being autistic is not a limitation but a variation in how people think, feel, and connect.
Act 1:
Aria has difficulty communicating well with others because of an inherent bell-shaped barrier, but because of her innate magical talent, this behaviour is considered a “quirk of genius”.
Growing up with many negative comments, but still made a good friend Roseanne because of the same interest in magic.
Until adulthood, they are about to face the challenge of finding an adventure team to join in order to sustain their family.
Act 2:
Accepts an interview to join the Adventure Team, but finds that the bell barrier disappears during the interview.
Fearing the change in life, Aria runs away from the interview and is not understood by Roseanne, two of them grow apart after an argument.
Continuing to be lonely, Aria closes herself off, but after some time, Roseanne comes back and recommends a special Magic Tower to her.
Act 3:
Came to the Magic Tower, which “only accepts weirdos”, learning that many people has the similar situation as her, hard to “resonate” with the world.
Aria decided to join them, and at the end realizes that the barrier that envelops her begins to widen and envelops others.
She finds her own way of resonating with the world.
This is a graphic novel that's done by two of us, Jenif (me) and my friend YingBi. I did the backgrounds and the base colours of the graphic novel.
